Making money online has never been better, Wealthy Affiliate is the best affiliate program I’ve come across in my career as an online entrepreneur. it is not just a referral program, it is a university with many important training courses. I joined WA some months ago after seeing a lot of positive reviews. And I thought to myself “…all these people can’t be playing around..”. Honestly my life has not been same since, I’m not making much money yet but I make a considerable amount monthly and there is more on the way. Joining WA is life changing decision for me.

  18. Residual income – how I love you so! I first came across the concept of residual income in the Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad Poor Dad book which I’m sure you are familiar with and it was a complete game changer and I am working always towards developing multiple income streams across a number of platforms. How did you get started on the path to residual income and what would you say (if you were to start from scratch) would be the first moves in working towards passive income? For me – understanding the difference between an asset and a liability and the idea of building income generating assets as opposed to spending on stuff that deprecates is huge. I am active in the network marketing industry and that’s my main route to passive income 😊

I’m going to have a look into it more and more and hopefully use it to build my online business.

I’ll be sure to check into WebTalk, CashJuice and a few more, but the last time I tried signing up to WebTalk, I noticed the confirmation email never came in. What could be the cause of that? Do I need to contact its support team?

One thing that I read on your site is that you recommend that people do not wait until they can no longer do the physical labor required for many jobs.  That is exactly what I did and now I am scrambling to make some extra income to supplement my Social Security.  My husband passed away almost 9 years ago and I have been struggling since to survive.  I clean houses for extra income but even that is getting hard.  Any suggestions as to how I can quickly make extra money?

  29. Tony,

This is a great resource for earning online.  Having more than one income stream has helped me overcome some of the ups and downs in life.  Now that I earn my income online, I use several ways to make that income.  Each is very different and if one fails the other picks it up.

Do you think selling on E-Bay is still a still good way to make money online, some of the profit margins have decreased because of the increase in fees.

MLM’s and Surveys scare me in the amount of time that you need to invest to make a profit.  Can money be made in these two examples?

There are many different methods available and if you choose the wrong ones, you can end up with a lot of wasted time and money while you are trying to find something that works. I learned in the last few years that I greatly underestimated the power of multiple income-streams. I’ve now given myself this model: salaried income (guaranteed family bread), steady savings (kid’s future), investment portfolio (economy growth), and a diversified affiliate portfolio (unlimited financial growth). By spreading my money sources and investments/contributions, this allows me to have a better state-of-mine and more peace with risks I take to grow my businesses.

I did try and join Legendary Marketer, I thought it was free. I’m sure I read somewhere it was free. When I went to join there was a joining fee. I was unable to pay that at the time so I didn’t go through with it.

In today’s world, with the internet, you can take anything you have and turn it into a reliable source of income by using your creativity and taking risks. You can literally use the wealth you have now to create more of it and live a better life!

Schools should teach us how to set up passive incomes so we can dedicate our time to learning and growing.

But after working in the online business, I started changing my opinion and trying to improve this thing. Now that I have several sources of income (pretty much passive, I would say), things have changed a lot and my income is a lot more stable every month. In the past, I would have varied numbers but lately it’s been around the same values, which is great because it’s exactly what I was looking for.

Its indeed better to have multiple streams of online incomes especially during times like these where there are so many platforms that offer services which promise a moderate income. That way, the massive pooling of profit guarantees a substantial amount.

  79. I mostly find passive income unrealistic, because of the way I believe whatever you have to get you have or earn money from, most first of all require your physical presence, your time, your energy they your mind, reading this has only given me greater inside and has cleared all my ignorance, one can still hold on to your job and yet engage in activities that will earn you passive income and sometimes to the extend of it becoming your number one, if you dedicate yourself to it.

  96. Hi, Tony. Thanks for sharing your views on the multiple sources of passive and residual income. There are many legit opportunities to earn passive income but a fresher in online marketing is often introduced to scams and shiny objects promising to get rich quick schemes. However, I’m happy I’m not in that league of freshers and I have your articles to guide my through my online marketing journey. Thank you

  97. I couldn’t agree more with the very first sentence of this article.  I had to learn this the hard way though, failures online that caused me to have to go get odd jobs and then go back to the drawing board.  But yes, absolutely the more streams of passive and residual income we have, the better.  One of the best things we can do is avoid the shiny objects as you mention.  Unfortunately for me, when the very unhealthy want for quick money comes on, it’s so easy to be distracted in that direction.  In a way the year of Covid was a blessing, not because of the pandemic itself, but because I was able to sit down and really focus on building long term passive incomes.  The thing is, it takes time, and patience, but if we can just be willing to sit down and work every day, we’ll get there, and reap the benefits in a year and years to come after that.  I’ve got an Etsy store right now that was doing great in July, but then it slowed down in August and September, and it was an immediate sign to start building more passive income streams.  It’s too easy to become complacent with just one.  I’d rather have the calm of knowing that if one falls apart temporarily, that another is going strong.  My goal is to build at least 3, but that’s just the starting point.  Thanks for your article and getting me thinking.

And I have never been one to put all my eggs in one basket some to speak. It’s important to have multiple sources of income and income that is residual that you don’t have to keep working over an offer for.
That’s the smart way of working as opposed to working the hard way. I myself have finally found the one program that is legitimate and provides residual income.

Nothing much important and my first priority than to have a multi source of passive and residual income, actually I belive there are the list of possibilities and no endless but the best way is to be subjectedive to those opportunity come on our hand my experience t grab this opportunity first is to set a goal for every opportunity, how much yo will be ready to invest, and also how much can you afford to lose(Risk) this define the torance for you investment the higher the risk the high profit and the low risk the low profit but you are much less likely o lose your money.

  124. I appreciate the fact that you have a list of different streams of income. I do believe that everyone should have multiple streams. In order to pique my interest, I would have liked to see at least one example explained or had all of the listed in this article so that I can choose to move forward on the exact stream I would like to learn about. I did click to see your top recommendations which led to another page asking to click on a linktree. I clicked on the “get paid to write” and it brought me to a page where I could pay someone to write. Then I had to look on that page to find how to apply to be a writer only to find out that they are not taking any writers. In the end, it was a lot of work just to find out that the one thing that interested me is not available. I then clicked on your highest recommended stream of income only to find that you must enter info just to find out what it even is. I think it might be better to list all the stream of income out and explain all in one page, then if someone is interested after you point out pros and cons we can choose what fits. I hope this feedback is helpful to you and for your future readers.

  158. I am still not certain until now, does earning money online can be done in the passive way? I mean, if your market it with any type of marketing method, you are not doing passively at all. But basically targeting the exact consumer is the passive way. Then how you get the money if you are “passive” on targeting the market?

One of the things that attracted me to blogging was the ability to eventually build up a passive income stream. It’s hard work in the beginning as you design and write the content, but once done it’s live on Google on an ongoing basis.

  164. Passive income is the goal for many aspiring entrepreneurs (sometimes called just aspiring). Instead of working for someone else, trading your time for a few bucks an hour, you are capable of sitting on the beach in the sun with a mojito while the money flows into your bank account.

If you’ve been reading this series, you know that passive income is more complicated than that. It takes time, effort and creativity to put everything together so that you bring enough money to pay for the mojito, even so the flight and the beach next to the hotel.

One of the best ways to increase your passive income is to expand into other areas. More than just investing your energy in a single idea, having small ideas can be more successful. Let’s take a look at why and how to make multiple sources of passive income.

This is one reason why many fell victim to shady business opportunities and scam. However, when one is cautious and rely on opportunity information that comes from the experienced veteran as you are, there should be no holding back from getting involved in multiple income sources.

I agree with you in that we must try to have multiple sources of income as online entrepreneurs. But I am not sure how we can ever be able to do that safely. No matter how hard one tries to research on a “business opportunity” you come across, or one that gets thrown your way, you will 90%+ of the time, only realise when you are already in, that you have fallen into a trap!

The problem is that such scams divert your resources such as money and time from some legit enterprises that you could have or would have already joined!

    It’s not easy!

Linktree is very useful as you can create a visually appealing list of the companies you promote.  I’m a fan of Russell Brunson’s books and have the 30 Day Challenge from the 1 Funnel Away Challenge.  I did that this February gone and really learnt a lot in regards to funnel design and flow.

Their marketing is excellent and is why they flew past Builderall which is a similar programme.  The difference is Builderall’s Premium package is half the price of Clickfunnels basic package.  So for someone on a tight budget – Builderall would be the better solution.

You simply can’t rely on one source of income and expect it to be sustainable given the changing nature of the online world. It’s really only the same as other decisions you make about finance in that you have to diversify your investments to ensure long term growth.

You have obviously been in the industry long enough to know the importance of diversifying.

Making money online isn’t easy by any means, but over time multiple income streams can be built up gradually until they add up to something substantial.

  203. Residual income building is the only true source of passive income as a lifestyle. It is in itself the definition of wealth as eventually, all product-based posts have a shelf life and no Search Engine Rank is guaranteed forever to generate new sales. The difference between being rich and being wealthy is whether your money is working to earn you more money in your sleep, on vacation, when you retire, and for generations to come. Wealthy beats being rich any day. I would rather have $240K a year in residual income than a one time five million dollar lottery win. I can live off wealth far past my lifetime.

I’ve had multiple income sources for years, but for the most part, they’re not what one would consider passive. As a freelance writer, I have to take time out of my day to sit down and actually write content for my customers, so the closest I get is with my own websites. That’s not to say I don’t write their content, because I do. It’s just that it continues to make money for me long after I’m done doing so. 230. Tony, how are you? You know what? I like it. This is simple, straightforward, and succinct.

After 6 months, I am still a ‘newbie’ affiliate marketer. There are so many choices and gurus out there, that analysis paralysis had begun to set in. My online coach and mentor have recommended several of the same products to me. Right from the beginning, he says get on board with Legendary Marketer. Just look at the laser-like focus of a day by day and step by step 15-day instruction. Who couldn’t make it with a focused mentor and a great system?

Thank you for sharing your Linktree. I have it bookmarked for future reference. There are so many ‘juicy’ links in there, I am referring to it as my Affiliate Marketer Playbook!

Like you’ve enumerated in your article, it is very important to have multiple streams or sources of income in online marketing as it helps build a steady business in online marketing. I appreciate you also putting various online marketing platforms that one can earn from in your article.

  235. This is a great reminder for those that have started making money online. Sometimes it’s so easy to get so excited when we earn from a single source that we tend to put all of our efforts into one income stream, but what happens when or if that source disappears? Then, you’ll have to start all over.

We often forget that sometimes affiliate programs get removed even after years of being available to marketers, plus it’s limiting the amount we can earn when we only focus on a single income stream.

This is a great reminder, not only to veteran marketers, but also the “newbies” who are just starting out.

While I think it’s a good idea not to overwhelm ourselves by adding multiple streams at once, it’s definitely a great idea to gradually add more income streams once we figure out our general marketing methods, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve managed to build up just one, with very small earnings, but I’ve come across some good investments in the meantime. It’s a long journey where one has to learn a lot you can’t speed it up much unless you outsource a lot.

This can also be seen this way… If a four-leg chair breaks one leg, the chair will still be standing. The same applies with online revenue. One cannot blame gurus for false testimonies; “get rich quick” schemes. People are very impatient with ROI and would rather see results in a snap regardless of the effort they put in and how little the return is, thus give open a huge door for misleading information from gurus while they coin it on the side.

But the biggest problem was finding an honest program that offers a chance for a marketer to earn. With the internet infested with so many scams, a marketer really must do some serious research before investing a lot of time and money in programs. They all will offer great residual income for a person to achieve their dreams, but how will the outcome be? Will they get the support? It remains to be seen.

If more people learn how to create success and abundance, they will have more confidence in life and realize that they are in control and can make more decisions based on values instead of from their paycheck.

The way you managed to build a successful online business through your many trials and tribulations while working a full time job in balance with your family life is a good lesson on what is possible for those of us just getting started that have the will and determination to one day becoming free from the 9-5 grind and earn a good living. There’s a lot to be said for having such freedom to do things like more fishing or spending more quality time traveling with the family and although it may not be easy, the end rewards will certainly outweigh the time and effort put into getting there!

  269. Many years ago I came across a book by Robert Allen called Multiple Streams of Income. I bought it and became a fan. This was back in 1999. Of course he was proposing non Internet related options. But one of them was a Health and Wellness company that had an MLM structure.

Today, with the Internet, it is much more easy to develop several online businesses and create multiple streams of income. Within Affiliate Marketing itself it is possible to do this using several websites each with a different niche.

Naturally, I would recommend creating one at first and building that up to be earning several hundreds of dollars a week before staring another one. What would be your advice Tony?

    Cheers.

I overlooked copywriting for years and was stuck on MLM and trying to use traffic exchanges, safelists, and leads.  I spun a lot of wheels for years.  Cold calling and email marketing.

  294. Hi, Tony!

I have followed you on the blog for some time, and I really like how you present the information, easy to digest.

Something that always seemed to me could be to achieve some sources of income online that have little profit, say 100 dollars and be able to “double” this in other sources of income. Let’s say you achieve 10 of these “jobs”.

I am wondering this since I feel (correct me if it is a lie) that Internet jobs can somehow be carried out in parallel. This way it is easier to have 10 opportunities. For example, having 10 jobs … would be impossible.

Of course, when I refer to parallel jobs, I mean those low-profit jobs, around $ 100 a month. What do you think about this?

Thank you very much for the contribution

This is why I like the online world because the opportunities are easy to find and there are a lot of them. You just have to be willing to look for them so that if for any reason one of those sources should close down you can easily depend on your other sources of income.

I am new to all this so I have a couple of question. Do you recommend multiple streams for newbies or do you think it is better to start with one and then later add multiple streams?

    Do you personally offer training?

  303. One of the sites you have mentioned as a possible source of passive income is MoneyLine. I joined that program some time ago and I can say that they do keep their promise. However, in order to see an income, one has to have money to invest and reach the higher levels of  the program. Presently, I am unable to do so. I am however working steadily on my website at WA and I know that I will return to MoneyLine in the near future.

    1. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket

    2. Make sure all your sources of passive income is legit and not scam.

The list you have of sources you have discovered and tested yourself is long, but makes for a great start point for selecting multiple sources of income. There are a multitude of opportunities in cyberspace to make money, but difficult to discern the real deal offers. I guide like yours is invaluable in researching money-making opportunities.

I have been focusing far too much on Amazon sales over the last two years as it was so easy to sell there and make good profits. Now that they have dropped their commissions so drastically I am earning a quarter of what I used to there. So now like your advice says, I am looking at other streams of income, as one can’t put all your eggs in one basket.

In other words, your website need to be viewed by a large number of audiences. In order to make it happen, you need to write a number of contents with qualities. Maybe at least, 100 posts or pages. So if you write it twice a week, it will takes at least a year. That is a definition of “No Easy Quick Money”. How about people who are not good in writing? Should they walk away and find something else?

It is important to have alternative methods of income even if you are working a normal job. These times are so uncertain, we need to be flexible in case the industry suddenly shuts down. I was working as a teacher, but during these Covid-19 restrictions, my job has suddenly become obsolete as everyone is going online. When you are first starting out in order to get that passive income it takes a lot of learning and actual applying. Most will not make it past the 6 months mark, really is a shame because once you do and it is consistent,PASSIVE definitely comes regularly. So regularly that passive income from multiple sources can fund your retirement.

  345. Not only for the online business people but also everyone living in the modern era should learn this important concept of money, in my opinion. Now is a time in which regular and stable salaries become a luxury. Even if we manage to conquer the overheated war zone in the workplace, there is still a final villain no one can neglect – inflation. Because of this very devil, our money in the bank become doomed to shrink to be worth nothing in future, and hence, we are forced to sort out every possible, and legit of course, way to enhance our incomes. The concept of multiple sources of incomes has transformed from a privilege to wealthy people to a compulsory lesson to children of modern time. Thanks for spreading the related knowledge to people worldwide, for your effort may be more and more vital to human race.

I agree 100% – it is very wise to have multiple sources or streams of income even online.  That way if one is negatively impacted for reasons out of your control you don’t lose everything you’ve been working for. The reality is sometimes other businesses or platforms may change or get updated and those updates or changes could impact you negatively.

Just like with investments – they talk about not having all your eggs in one basket – great concept for income as well.
